Okay, so, the trip was pretty much how I expected it. Day 1 - Day 4, Eric's mother made me feel like crap and all I wanted was to hop a train back out here. I like Eric's grandfather and his uncle Bill... Not too sure about others. Ofcourse I didn't really sit around and be social. If I don't know someone, I'm not the type to walk up and start a conversation with someone.
When we got out to Long Island, we surprised his dad by showing up at his work. Eric called him up, he went to answer the phone and looked out the window and saw us standing there. So like the first thing out of his mouth was "What are you guys doing here?!" and the answer to that was "We wanted to give you back your watch." Step-mother Catherine was surprised as well. And Eric's Nanny (G.G. to the kids) was overwhelmed with having these two in her house for as many days as we were there. LOL.
I got to go see my old counselor. She was surprised to see me and the kids. Especially Robin. He was so little the last time we were out there.
Now, before I get to the pictures... There was a night while upstate, that Raven got really sick. She had a fever so bad we couldn't touch her she was that hot to the touch. She was throwing up everywhere. And what sucked, is we had to stay in a pop up camper out in the backyard. So there was no rushing her to the bathroom to get her cleaned up and stuff. After I got her cooled of, by walking around with her outside in the cold late night air, I brought her back into the camper, and Eric moved to the other side of the camper with Robin while Raven and I took the other side. I watched over her for as long as I could before I ended up dozing off. I kept waking up now and then to find her staring at me unblinking like. Her breathing was very heavy and fast. The whole time I was worrying about her seizures. Before I ended up dozing off, I said a little prayer. Something along the lines of
"Hello up there, it's me, Laurie. You know as well as I do, that I believe there is something out there, some higher power, I just don't like giving you a name. If I'm wrong, give me a sign. I'm sending a prayer to you for Raven, please don't let her have a seizure. We've been doing so good and its nearly the end of the year, please watch over her and keep her safe. Thank you." Sometime during the night, she woke me up saying
"uh-bye uh-bye Jesus ah-bye" Now, we're an agnostic bunch over here, the hubby and I. We don't use the words Jesus and God, so to have her say that literally floored me. And then she went to bed. She did wake up throwing up one more time during the night, and had a little juice to keep her hydrated. Her breathing was still heavy and fast, but she could sleep. Her fever broke by the next afternoon and then she was perfectly fine again. She even ate 1/4 of a hot dog, and she hates those things with a passion. The day before we left NY all together, I got really sick, nearly fainted a few times, and was walking around making everyone else sweat because I had 4 sweatshirts on. But I was still freezing! Had a bad headache that didn't go away for 3 days. And when we got back here, Eric had what I had. Haha... He should have apologized for talking nasty to me that day before we left. Now that he felt what I went through. But he didn't.
( Anyway, on to the pictures. )I warned you there were a bunch of pictures!
